Homeless Halima

Halima is homeless
She sleeps in different beds
With different men every weekend
Sometimes on street pavements

Halima is hopeless
Miserable and homeless
With nowhere to call her place
Her situation is complex

Halima is desperate
She has no employment
She is tired and needs a rest
But has nowhere to lay her head

Halima is pregnant
And she has been kicked out
Rejected and dejected, she cries out
Every night for her is a night out

Halima is destitute
And now has become a prostitute
With nowhere to call home
Her belongings are scattered all over

Halima is twenty six years old
Braving the bone biting cold
Has become her way of life
She wishes she was somebody’s wife

Poor homeless Halima
